abstract="This paper addresses the implementation of pervasive Java Web applications using a development approach that is based on the Model--View--Controller (MVC) design pattern. We combine the MVC methodology with a hierarchical task-based state transition model in order to achieve the distinction between the task state and the view state of an application. More precisely, we propose to add a device-independent TaskStateBean and a device-specific ViewStateBean for each task state as an extension to the J2EE Service to Worker design pattern. Furthermore, we suggest representing the task state and view state transition models as finite state automata in two sets of XML files. This paper shows that the distinction between an application's task state and view state is both intuitive and facilitates several, otherwise complex, tasks, such as changing devices ``on the fly.''",

        abstract = {The data exchange with STEP ISO 10303 is state of the art, but it is still a fundamental problem to guarantee a given quality of service to integrated operational and informational applications. In STEP there are defined descriptive methods, data specifications, implementation resources and conformance testing, but there is nothing to document how the data is processed. A success report of the mapped data from the source to the target tool is missing. In this paper we introduce a Transformation Report for documenting the data transformation from the source to the target tool. With this report the trustworthiness of the received data can be significantly improved by documenting the data loss, semantic and syntactic errors. With the information in the report it should be possible to infer the proper value to define rules that fix the data after it has been determined to be incorrect or to find a suitable data integrations strategy into a target tool or repository. The intention of the paper is to suggest a standardised Transformation Report, that can be automatically processed and that contains all information for an automated reconciliation process.}

exchange engineering data between these tools is the Standard for Product Data Exchange (STEP), ISO 10303. It offers domain specific database schema called application protocols. This paper analyses the problems of the data exchange between tools via an application protocol. and proposes a Transformation Report, which records individual transformation steps during the exchange between two different tools. The Transformation Report supports the
understanding of the data exchange process and helps correcting incomplete or incorrect transformed data.}

Das hier vorgestellte zeitliche Modell T-XPath erweitert das bisherige Datenmodell und die Anfragesprache XPath um eine flexible und effiziente Modellierung, Verwaltung und Abfragem{\"o}glichkeit von zeitlichen Informationen. Als Grundlage dienen abstrakte zeitliche Datentypen (ADT), die die gesamte zeitliche Entwicklungsgeschichte eines Wertes kapseln und zus{\"a}tzlich auch unscharfe und ungenaue Zeitangaben ber{\"u}cksichtigen k{\"o}nnen.         abstract = {Zentrale ECA-Regeln wurden f{\"u}r zentrale aktive Datenbanksysteme entwickelt. In verteilten aktiven Datenbanksystemen tritt zus{\"a}tzlich das Prob-lem der Unerreichbarkeit von Teilsystemen auf und damit die Unentscheidbarkeit von ECA-Bedingungen, die sich auf entfernte Systeme beziehen. In diesem Papier wird daher eine entsprechende Erweiterung der ECA-Regeln f{\"u}r verteilte aktive Datenbanksysteme vorgeschlagen, um auch bei Unerreichbarkeit und Unentscheidbarkeit der ECA-Bedingungen reagieren zu k{\"o}nnen. Dazu wird zun{\"a}chst die ECA-Auswertung zu einer strikten Funktion mit dem Unerreichbar-keitszustand ? erweitert und dann die ECA-Regeln um Alternative Aktionen AA angereichert. Der Einsatz und Vorteil dieser erweiterten ECA-Regeln wird am Beispiel der Erhaltung der Datenkonsistenz in verteilten aktiven Datenbank-systemen gezeigt.}
